A Garden Party

Each month the Solihull twinning Association, of which I am a member, hold a social event. Sometimes this is a visit to a theatre or a quiz but often it is a fundraising event which allows the association to raise money to help pay for twinning visits for our guests when we host our friends from France and Germany.

This month, we held a garden party in the garden of one of our members, Haydon.

The party, held last Sunday, was very successful and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Every member paid a small entrance fee and brought with them some sort of cake. Tea and cakes were then served to everyone. As usual we had more cake than anyone could possibly eat and the so leftover cakes were auctioned off.

I enjoyed the party, as I do with all the twinning events, but the best thing was that Claude was able to attend since she is currently visiting Solihull. It was lovely to meet her again.
