Thank you Jean-Marie

Juliet here!! I'd just like to say thanks to Mr JM for leaving a message this week. It's nice to see that what I put on the blog is read by someone!!

I'd like to inform you of an intersting address if you're into hi-tec stuff. It's on the bbc and my colleague Simon told me about it.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/click_online/default.stm

So there is a website and if you can get BBC world TV then you can watch the programme on a Thursday night at 21.30 French time.

Happy surfing Juliet

hello,

my name is Christiane and I learn english in the Center "Horizon" at Cholet.
I received english people of Solihull last May and it was very interesting.
In April 2007, I will go to Solihull with my husband to meet our english friends.
I would like to have an english correspondant to send e.mails or letters.

Storytime

This message is for any French students that would like to listen to an English children's story. You can go to cbbies here's the link. Jack and the Beanstalk is good and others also have "subtitles". Happy Reading and Listening !!

Bye for now Juliet

Any computer experts out there?

Ok so I might have got this blog going but I don't know a lot about IT!!! Could anyone tell me how to put sound on this blog as I'd like to put a story for my students to listen too.

Thanks for any easy to follow advice.

Vicky Turley

Hello to you all.

My name is Vicky and I have been a student of Lyndsey's since September.

I did not study french at school and so am a complete beginner but I am thoroughly enjoying it (even if it is hard work!!). It is ashame I did not take the plunge earlier, I have missed out on so much, it is great fun and very interesting. I never realised that so many french and english words were so similar.

Unbelievably I have reached the age of 33 and still not managed to visit France, which I am hoping to rectify next year (possibly with my Mother who is studying with me).

I would love to hear more about France and especially Cholet.

My penfriend Estelle and myself are correcting the language in each others e-mails which is a great help and very informative.

I think the blogg site and the opportunity to have a penfriend is a great idea and well worth it.

Well I had better go now. Next time I will attempt to write in french, wish me luck!!

Regards

Vicky

I'm just crazy about...

I'm just crazy about... garlic. Cooking without garlic is just like spending summer holidays without sun. When I wake up in the morning and think about my breakfast menu the first ingredient that I grab is... garlic. Garlic on my bread with a teaspoon of olive oil is my gasoline, my drug, my sun for the rest of the day. I try to make my family become addicted to it. So, I hide some in each meal as soon as I can: salads, meat, boiled vegetables, pies, bread, cheese... everywhere !!! My dream would be to go to Cornwall for a garlic festival because I heard about it. Today I'm trying to persuade my husband to come with me to taste the speciality which is... garlic ice-cream. I love garlic, he loves ice-cream... It should work !

Health vocabulary

I just thought I'd let you all know about an interesting blog. It's called www.petiteanglaise.com
and having just read it I can tell you that it's very funny and you can see some vocab in one of the posts about going to hospital. Go on give it a read and tell me the word that we saw the other day in class.
