10th Anniversary

Just to let everybody know that I spent a very pleasant day yesterday with Solihull's Mayor and his wife: David and Sally Bell. They are currently in Cholet for the 10th anniversary of the twinning with Cholet. They'll be attending the Carnaval tomorrow so let's keep our fingers crossed that the rain'll hold off.

As a teacher of the IML I was asked to accompany them on Friday in order to do some translating. Although I must say that everyone made a big effort to speak and communicate in both languages and that sometimes I felt quite redundant!

It's wonderful to see that this couple along with Solihull's council's leader and his assistant from the department of education were as motivated as I am to set up links between our two twin towns. Could this be the beginning of something interesting? Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Sally Bell has promised me to have a look at our blog and has said that she'll try to add some posts from time to time...I was as you can imagine over the moon!

So I look forward to reading her posts and hearing about her impression of Cholet.

Thank you to my students who came along for coffee at the IML on Friday morning it was lovely to see you and gave everyone a good image of the school.

Long live the twinning!
