Welcome to any new members!!

First thing....I don't know if you've all seen but there is a guy called Paul who would like a penfriend to improve his French and help anyone that's French with their English.

"My name is Paul and I have just started french lessons with Lindsey on Monday evening at Solihull college. Lyndsey suggested getting in touch through the blog to see if it's possible, for anyone interested, in making contact with a French penfriend.I've recently returned from France on holiday,we stayed in the Corbieres area.Looking forward to your comments.a bientot Paul."

I suppose the first question is Paul what do you like doing in life and where do you work? It's nice to link up with someone with similar "passions".

I'll be doing a bit of advertising for the blog and penfriends in a few weeks time at the IML. We've just started back and it always takes a bit of time to get things going.

Say a big thank you to Lindsey for putting us in contact and we'll do our best to sort you out.

hello all my english friends !

how are you,

I begin my english lesson this week and I have just read all the messages on the blog

I was in holiday in Italy, 2 weeks near Florence and 1 week near Venise, a lot of beautiful museums and churches, very interesting pictures and sculptures, a lot of tourists and a very nice weather! We took many beautiful photos. We went by car and stayed 1 night at a hotel

Italian people are driving very fast and they don't respect the speed, it's very dangerous to drive on italian motorway !

Food is not very good in Italie, except for pizzas and ice-creams !!

How is the weather now in Solihull ? In France it's a little cold for the season.

Hello from a new Franglaise!

I hope you don't mind me joining you. I'm Val, I live in Mortagne sur Sèvre in the Vendée and I work with Juliet who has given me the name of Vendée Val. I don't know Solihull as I'm from the frozen North (Southport to be precise) but I hope that won't go against me.
Like Juliet, my husband's French and my two kids (23 and 21 years old) were born here so I now feel more French than English. I've been teaching here for about 15 years almost exclusively in companies as I worked in business in the UK before coming here.
I don't feel I have anything world-shattering to talk about on the blog but I'll be happy to contribute or answer any questions from anyone who's interested.
Bye for now
Val

New School Year

It's that time of year again!!!

Are you all ready to get your vocabulary out and start studying!! Am I ready to start teaching? Go on then if you're up for it I'll go for it too.

No really, by the end of September I'm ready to see everyone again. C'est vrai!!

So, Solihull had a French visit this summer(Claude) and France had an English visit too; Lindsey came over to the Vendée and the Deux-Sèvres and popped in to see her penpal near Cholet too and it was lovely to see her.

Now listen to me all you Brits out there who'd like to learn more about France and the French I'm going to try and get a few more on the blog for you so you can ask them lots of questions and we can try to get a bit of an exchange going on.....so watch this space and I hope that between now and Christmas it'll be buzzing with franglais.....

Lindsey is going to try to find a few more English bloggers and Dave if you have any friendly classmates I'm sure you'll do your best too.

Looking forward to a busy blogging year.

All the best

Juliet
